Anil Jogani

Mr Anil Jogani has over 24 years of global experience in IT Governance and Management, Internal Audit, Corporate Finance and General Management and has operated at very senior levels. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1984, CISA in 1995 and has an MBA from a premier UK B-School. Anil works in London and advises companies globally on corporate governance, strategic development, business transformation, programmes and project management and ERP implementation. He has contributed to several internal control and process improvement measures in organizations and in software products. Anil has recently spearheaded the promotion of XBRL in India and its adoption in his company. XBRL is a new emerging standard for business and financial reporting. He has written several articles on XBRL that have been published in leading professional journals. Anil has been an avid promoter of IT Governance and Audit for over 15 years. He has served as the Founder President of ISACA, Bangalore Chapter and is currently serving on the Steering Committee of IT Governance Institute, USA (ITGI). (The ITGI Committee is responsible for overseeing research and development of IT Governance standards and propagating their adoption. They have recently released COBIT 4.1 and VALIT). Anil has also served on ISACA’s International Education Board.

He started his IT consulting career with PwC in 1991. From 1994 – 1997 he was the IT Audit Manager in Coats Viyella Group, the diversified British textiles major, where he was responsible for setting up their Asia-Pacific IT Audit Function. At that time, Anil audited diverse computer installations across a dozen countries in Asia Pacific, Europe and Africa. Here, he specialized in system controls, identity and access controls and application controls in a variety of environments. At Coats, during 1996, he introduced CobiT, the new IT management framework from ISACA. He also introduced DTI’s Code of Practice for IT Management which later became BS7799. 

Thereafter, Anil worked for a decade with Tally Solutions Group, a leading business software products company. He has been its EMEA CEO and Group President-Corporate Services and Strategic Development. Anil has managed all departments and has participated in high growth strategies, governing for value and value based management, IPO preparation, product management, market development and new market entry strategies. He has extensive field experience in EMEA especially in setting up channels for software products and professional services.  Anil now hopes to share his experience and knowledge with other companies that might need them.

Anil has written several articles on IT security, audit and control as well as new technologies that were published in international professional journals. He has spoken at various forums and seminars around the world on IT Audit and Control, IT Governance, Software Selection and implementation. He has also conducted workshops on IT Governance, computerized accounting, ERP implementation and auditing and made presentations on emerging technologies and their relevance to accountants and auditors.

Anil Jogani conducts workshops and seminars mostly in a lecture format with some hands-on exercises. He specializes in optimising Value from IT, business and process improvement, IT Strategy and IT Governance using COBIT and VALIT frameworks.  His other areas of expertise are:- IT audit, application and general controls, systems development controls and CAAT. He has presented at ISACA Conferences and other professional seminars. In February 2007, he conducted a workshop for senior IT Managers on VALIT in Dubai at the IIR - IT Service Management Conference.

He is passionate about optimizing value from IT Investments and advises companies on creating a governance framework to maximize value.
